* Create materials that mainly talk about what the prospects will get if they work with you. Don't bother talking a lot about what you will do for them. If all your materials talk about who you are and what you do and why you're so experienced, more times than not prospects will not pay attention.

* Plan the follow-up for your prospects and client over the life of your marketing and sales cycle. Ensure that each of your communications give your clients or prospects something of value.

* Little touches can make all the difference in the world. You can really set yourself apart from your competitors and convert more business with things like simple letters to confirm appointments and thank you notes or meeting summary letters as a follow-up to your appointment.

* Give them an idea or two they can use with these touches and you'll really have prospects taking notice.

* Devise stay-in-touch marketing strategies to stay top of mind. Perhaps no other marketing strategy is as important as this one. You owe it to the growth of your business to do what you can to stay in front of your clients, prospects, business alliance and referral sources. These are the people or businesses who could either return to do business with you, give you new business, or refer business your way.
